Korb to Sullivan & Cromwell

by law shucks on December 11, 2008

Sullivan & Cromwell announced that Donald Korb will be joining the firm as head of its tax-controversy practice. This is the latest stop in a career bouncing between private practice and government work. Korb (Case Western JD ’73, Georgetown Tax LLM ’77) was most recently Chief Counsel at the IRS. Previously, he was at Thompson Hine, sandwiched between other stints at the IRS.

Looks like the Thompson money only carried him through four years at the IRS and he’s now looking to replenish his coffers for retirement. Sullivan reportedly had profits of $3,050,000 per equity partner for 2007. Somewhat higher than the government payscale.
