60,000 Layoffs Today

Not in BigLaw, obviously, but at clients.  Clusterstock is keeping a list:

• Caterpillar 20,000
• Pfizer 8,000
• Sprint/Nextel 8,000
• Home Depot 7,000
• Deere 700
• ING 7,000
• Philips 6,000
• Corus 3,500
• GM 2,000
• Starbucks 1,000

Those are general layoffs.  Unlike with Microsoft, we haven’t been able to determine which law departments, if any, are specifically affected.
