A closing at Skadden
Once again, Corporate Counsel has interviewed a number of general counsel from various industries to find out their personal and professional resolutions for the new year, and how they did last year. The full article has responses from the GCs of the ABA, Johns Hopkins, the YMCA, and the Princeton Review.
Brackett Deniston III, SVP and GC of GE, is already in for some disappointment.
Next year personally: “I want to find time to be with my wife and three children, read more great books and ski more. And get to see Tom Brady back as the Patriots quarterback.”
NBC Sports has reported that Brady is well behind schedule for his rehab and might not play at all next season. Which is fine with me. I took him #2 in my fantasy football draft and ended up losing the championship because Matt Ryan, the replacement I picked up, laid an egg.
David Sherbin, VP, GC and CCO of Delphi Corp., shares a goal with many in BigLaw. He just “want[s] to get a good night’s sleep for one straight week.” With the state of the auto industry (Delphi is one of the world’s largest parts manufacturers), things aren’t looking good for him, either.
Anyone bold enough to share his or her resolution? Ours are to take more naps, update the Layoff Tracker (content and layout), and roll out some cool new features we’re working on.
