Deidre Dare, the sex blogger and project-finance lawyer of recent reknown, has been fired by Allen & Overy.  She will now have the actual opportunity to fight the sacking, despite confusion over our writing

The firm’s statement (courtesy of The Lawyer):

“Following our normal disciplinary process, we found that Ms Dare’s behaviour – in publishing the material she did in the professional name under which she practises, and the way that she has responded to a number of reasonable requests from us since – was unacceptable and totally at odds with the standards of behaviour that we expect from all of our people.

“We’ve therefore terminated her employment.

“After we became formally aware of Ms Dare’s website and started to consider the firm’s response, she filed a grievance which was fully investigated in accordance with our standard policies and found to be groundless, although she has appealed against the decision.”

As usual, another selection of her prosaic stylings after the jump.  Not safe for those with sensitive literary tastes.

Inventory, by Deidre Dare

Inventory (Homage to Mrs. Parker)

Three things I am feeling right now:

Drunk, alone and fat as a cow.

Three things that I wish I could be:

Twenty-five, dumb and quite happy.

One thing that strikes me at once:

How much thinking

I do with my cunt.

what does "formally aware" actually mean? That they were aware but until the grievance was filed did nothing about it? So did the grievance trigger the 'formal" response? I do wonder what the timeframe was for that? What were the reasonable requests? Her website did state she was not loading more chapters of her novel (note: fictional therefore vastly different from a Blog) until permitted to.. Sounds like a bunch of corporate bs speak i.e. A&O "spin"
