Legal Times Special Report: Associates

by law shucks on April 8, 2009

Legal Times has published a “Special Report: Associates.” The journal is focused on DC, but the issues are ubiquitous. There are three pieces in the report:

  • What Are More Billables Made Of?

For firms evaluating young lawyers, the bottom line is the bottom line. Yet many well-qualified associates still don’t get the work that could save their careers. The problem often lies in becoming too specialized in their legal expertise.

  • Safely Through the Storm

In this economic environment, a lot of associates are looking for jobs. To find out what that means for those struggling to stand out amid the crowd, Legal Times talked to local attorney search consultants.

  • We’ll Keep Calm and Carry On

Dear fellow junior associates: You’re all upset—and you probably should be. How do we handle this brave new world? Face the worst-case scenario and breathe.
