  • quick-shucksWe’re particularly pleased to announce that the links in the Raw Data chart of the Layoff Tracker are now formatted as hyperlinks, which means that you can click directly from the table to the article. Depending on your browser, you may see a small icon appear in the top right corner of the cell when you hover over it, clicking on that or double clicking on the link should open the source reference.
  • The Layoff Tracker has also been updated for content and performance again. The numbers are current, the dynamic May chart has been added, March has been rolled back to the historical page, and we’ve cleaned up the scripting for the ads (hopefully). Performance on the Layoff Tracker remains an issue we’re working on.
  • We updated the sub-pages for the Layoff Tracker -
    • the page for historic periods now includes links to those periods’ weekly and monthly summaries
    • the top 10 page now includes the main list, and the lists for attorneys and staff broken out, plus the top 10 firms by number of times they’ve laid people off (no one is going to catch Clifford Chance – they’re at 10, next highest is 5)
    • for some reason the page of layoff counts (number of layoffs announced in a month, not numbers of people) was a bar chart. It’s back to a line chart like it should be
  • We’re looking for a designer and a Ruby/PHP/MySQL developer for some exciting new projects.
  • We’ve finally added a contact form for those who were skittish about using actual email. You can also direct message us on twitter (@lawshucks) or send an email. It’s now easier to get in touch with us, so please do.
