top10postsaprThe usual suspects are on top of the list (the “This Week in Layoff” series and the March recap), so we’re highlighting some of the other content our readers have enjoyed the most.

On the whole, we’d have to say the audience seems to enjoy a healthy dose of schadenfreude.  Most of the top 10 articles focus on lawyers or firms who screwed up in one entertaining way or another.

After the jump, the Top 10 list, plus some administrative matters (new features, etc.)

10.  Snoop Rollin with B.I.G.Law – Look at the BigLaw firms who represent the pride of Long Beach.

9.  BigLaw to BigGov’t = BigPayCut – Analyzing the steep pay cut six lawyers took when joining the administration.

8.  SEC Lawyer Busted – Kevin Edmundson, who was leading the Allen Stanford investigation, was arrested for a fracas with a Fort Worth cop.

7.  Bizarro World: Banker Goes Back to Law – Lewis Steinberg leaves a banking gig at UBS and chooses Linklaters over his alma mater, Cravath.

6.  Deal Prof: Wachtell Did Fine – Steven Davidoff defends Wachtell in response to AmLaw’s piece (see #5).

5.  AmLaw: Wachtell Blew It for Apollo – The first salvo in the analysis of Wachtell’s performance in the Hexion/Huntsman saga of last year.

4.  Sandwich Thief Censured, Has Interesting Employers – Tracking one Troy Ellis’s efforts to get a free lunch, and the troubles that follow in his wake.

3.  Flunked out of Med School, Disbarred, What Next? – The trials and tribulations of Lauren Friedman and his efforts to maintain gainful employment in any of the three professions acceptable to Jewish mothers.

2.  Jackpot!  BigLaw, Fraud, and Strippers – Our introduction to Danny Pang, the scammer who hits on some of the thing we, and you, apparently, hold most dear.

1.  10,000 Laid off… and Counting – Commemorating the “milestone” of 10,000 people laid off since this wave began in January of 2008.  Unfortunately, we’ll probably be passing the milestone for the calendar year in the next few weeks.

Administrivia

On the right side of the page on most browsers, you should now see a grey box that says “Suggestions?” Please use it! It’s a Skribit widget that allows you to suggest topics for us to write about or easily provide us feedback (yes, we already know you think we suck, feel free to not bother with that one).

We’ve updated the Layoff Tracker for the current counts and recent articles.  We’re working on an even-more-automated system to bring in the weekly recaps and update the numbers.  We previously announced some tweaks to make the page load faster and add some additional charts.  Make sure to check it out and let us know what you think.  Will we hit 10,000 for the year?

Usual pleas for participation: send us tips, follow us on Twitter (@lawshucks), and join the discussion in the comments.
