quick-shucksThe fundraising was a success. Bankruptcy Bill #16 – GM First Day Hearings has been released.

The ex-wife of the developer who bet $3.75 million on a coin flip has had her own Chapter 11 converted to Chapter 7. She got in trouble for repeatedly failing to provide proof of insurance on her assets and the magistrate said that she has “abused the bankruptcy process for her own benefit without accepting any of the responsibilities required by the Bankruptcy Code and Rules.”

Gregory Jordan will return as Reed Smith‘s managing partner for a third term, starting in January. John DiNome, the lone challenger, sent a 10-page missive to his partners then withdrew his candidacy some time after the Philadelphia Business Journal got a copy. HT: [ABA Journal]

Lawyers at Latham can wear jeans all summer. I would think they’d wear clown suits if they were told to, rather than seeing how casual they can go.
