Exclusive: More Loeb & Loeb Layoffs

by law shucks on July 15, 2009

logo-loebReliable sources have informed us that Loeb & Loeb has laid off four corporate lawyers.

This is the firm’s third round of layoffs (don’t forget, you can search by firm in the raw data on the Layoff Tracker), following cuts of eight in November and four in January.

Back in November, the firm unnecessarily threw associates under the bus by bringing the “evaluation process” into the explanation and spinning that they were still hiring.  Courtesy dictates omitting that rationale entirely – blame it on economic forces or firm needs, but don’t say anything about performance.

The firm has not yet responded to our requests for comment.

If you have further (or other) information, don’t hesitate to contact us.  We keep all tips confidential.

Loeb & Loeb is a 100-year old national firm with “more than 300″ attorneys.

It seems like the legal business is still strong. There are ads daily from lawyers looking for people who have their civil rights violated, have been involved in an accident, or taken some new medication for which the side affects have no cure.

I wouldn't know. That's not really the part of the market we write about here. You might as well say "my loan shark is doing really well, so what's the problem with Lehman?" But thanks for reading and commenting!
