We’re big fans of some of Michael Jackson’s music, but quickly lost interest in all of the hullabaloo following his untimely demise.
Other than the fact that a Dewey & LeBoeuf partner is the family’s spokesperson, of course.
That would be Londell McMillan (Cornell BS ‘87, NYU JD ‘90), about whom we’ve written before. And apparently he was on CNN last night, telling Larry King that MJ wanted his mother, Katherine, to be trustee of his estate.
Details, after the jump.
PopSquire apparently watched the show:
He [McMillan] told Larry King last night that “there’s no question that Mrs. Katherine Jackson was Michael Jackson’s most trusted person, from a personal and business standpoint” and that he “will prove” MJ wanted Katherine to serve as a trustee of his estate. He said he will share certain information to the current trustees “as a courtesy,” which he hopes will convince them to add Katherine as a trustee.
Branca is also a lawyer, at an entertainment firm named, in typical LA entertainment law fashion, Ziffren, Brittenham, Branca, Fischer, Gilbert-Lurie, Stiffelman, Cook, Johnson, Lande & Wolf LLP.
McMillan also apparently brokered the deal with Jackson’s ex-wife for his mother to have custody of the children. You can see him talking about it on CBS in the video below.
We now return to our regular fare of BigLaw commentary.
