quickshucks* Legal Week has confirmed the RollOnFriday story we picked up for last week’s This Week in Layoffs – at least one former Linklaters employee is “in discussions” with the firm over its redundancy practices. The main allegation was that the firm replaced its newly qualified attorneys with cheaper non-qualifieds.

A sports lawyer, TV lawyers, a hiring partner, and a car company, after the jump.

* AmLaw Daily sat down with DeMaurice “De” Smith, head of the NFL Players Assocation. We wrote about the former Patton Boggs government partner getting the job by beating out “The Wolf,” among others just a few months ago.

* A belated Happy Anniversary! to Hiring Partner, whose advice we’ve often recommended. Count us among those who assumed she was a he (although we’re not going to go back and fix the numerous pronoun mistakes we now know we’ve made).

* The ABA Journal put together a panel to watch a bunch of television and rank the Top 25 Greatest Legal TV Shows. The panelists are completely random. Elie is the only one we know (and there are no active BigLawyers), and we’re disappointed he couldn’t get Harvey Birdman higher on the list.

* The Recorder tracked down the lawyer suing Tesla, a story we wrote about recently – in part because CEO Elon Musk is so amusing and we loved his shenanigans with the leaked memos.
