We’re pleased to announce the Law Shucks Lateral Tracker.
You’ve seen the layoffs and the bonuses, now it’s time to see the individuals – who’s going where.
Lawyers are becoming increasingly mobile – gone are the days of signing on with a firm as a summer associate and staying for an entire career. At the same time, clients have increasingly turned their loyalty to individual lawyers, rather than being tied to legacy relationships with entire firms. These and several other factors are creating an unprecedented “free agency” era of top-firm lawyers.
The Law Shucks Lateral Tracker let you view and customize reports of lawyers’ transfers among various employers. Reports can be searched, sorted or filtered by employer (either to or from), date, location, name, even practice area.
Most importantly, we’re counting on our community to support the application. Anyone can submit an entry for approval. We’ve seeded it with almost 200 entries, so you’ll have an idea of how it works. We focused mostly on the big firms that we cover in other news, but we’re curious to see what direction you’ll take it.
To kick things off and get people in the habit of entering the information, we’re running an iPhone 3GS Giveaway. Everyone who submits an entry by the end of the month will be entered to win the iPhone 3GS and a bunch of other stuff.
