Quick Shucks – 2/9/10

- BankruptcyBill.us » Bankruptcy Lawyers to the Celebrities….organized alphabetically! – Not only are there a couple of BigLaw-yers on there (Weil Gotshal for Trump, Crowell Moring for Mike Vick), you can also find out who represents such "celebrities" as Randy Quaid (Dick DeGuerin!), Vince Neil, and Lorenzo Lamas.
- Who Dat Writin’ on Legal Blog Watch – Eric Lipman steps up and introduces himself as the latest member of the team, but really, comment #4 steals the show.
- A&O in Oz – on the cards, sort of- Legalweek – The moves will all be in the Lateral Tracker, but Alex Novarese provides some nice background on firms' forays into Australia, and a little mad dash on the PR front for the A&O raid on Clayton Utz.
- Skid Row band dispute takes early lead in lawsuit of the year race–The Hollywood Reporter | Esq. – OK, not much BigLaw connection here, but we thought it was pretty funny that this guy was suing because he WANTS to be identified as having been the drummer for Skid Row. As if that's not bad enough, he wasn't even the drummer during the years they were "good" (or at least "popular") – he was the drummer from 2000-2003 when they must have been a novelty act.
- Lawyer Fight! Plot Thickens in Huge High Court Gun-Control Case – Law Blog – WSJ – SCOTUS gave the NRA, represented by King & Spalding's Paul Clement, time at oral argument because they're arguing a different constitutional remedy than the lead plaintiff. The time came from Alan Gura, who won Heller v. DC. He's in a 2-man shop now, but Gura started his private-practice career at Sidley.
