More LPO for Microsoft

by law shucks on April 7, 2010

Last month we wrote about Microsoft’s relationship with legal-process outsourcer CPA Global and the work it was doing for Microsoft out of India.

Now LegalWeek is reporting Microsoft has also signed up with Integreon.

The new agreement, which confirms Integreon as Microsoft’s exclusive provider of offshore managed document review, will see the a team of lawyers in India provide contract review and offshore document review for Microsoft.

Integreon will also supply eight full-time contract specialists and lawyers to work for Microsoft in Fargo, North Dakota.

More details after the jump, including what’s in it for Microsoft’s inhouse counsel.

Lucy Bassli, a senior attorney in Microsoft’s legal and corporate affairs department commented: “Integreon’s focus on quality and continuous improvement has helped us reduce costs and improve our responsiveness to the businesses we support.

“More importantly, it has allowed us to restructure our internal team to focus on other departmental priorities and further develop their careers at Microsoft.”

Bassli (Houston BA ’96, JD ’00) previously worked at Davis Wright Tremaine and another firm.

This is yet another step in Microsoft’s serious cost-cutting on the legal budget.

What do you think?  Is this the beginning of the end?  Thinking about moving to Fargo?  Isn’t that where they shipped that paralegal on that dreadful “Deep End” show?
